Oh, self-explanatory terms are a nice thing! A DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE is a different, i.e. different, pressure. Such a pressure difference is noticeable, for example, on the clean and dirty side of a filter when the pressure from the latter rises due to clogged pores.
