The name alone sounds unhealthy, don't you think? ENDOTOXINS are components of bacteria such as Pseudomonas or Salmonella, which can trigger fever when released in humans. These chemical compounds are not (as you might mistakenly assume based on the prefix endo-) inside the bacteria, but in the cell wall, which means that they can easily escape, for example by splitting off or dying the bacterium.
