The ability of a chemical element, compound or solution to conduct electricity is called CONDUCTIVITY. Since CONDUCTIVITY, as we have already established in the contributions to electrical conductivity and total salt content, depends on the substances dissolved in water, it also increases together with the number of these dissolved particles, and is therefore a good indicator of the purity or even the contamination of the water. The CONDUCTIVITY is given in microsiemens per centimeter and must always be based on a temperature of 25°C, as it is also influenced by heat.
