Phosphates are the salts of phosphoric acid and SULPHATES are the... well? That's right, salts of sulfuric acid, from Latin “sulfur” = sulfur. Since SULFATES occur naturally or in groundwater, there is a limit of 250 mg/l for our drinking water.
