Nitrates

NITRATES are the salts of nitric acid. These nitrogen-containing ionic compounds include, for example, potassium or sodium nitrate, but also silver and aluminum nitrate. As the last metabolite of the nitrogen chain, NITRATE occurs naturally in soil, but is used as a fertilizer, particularly in agriculture. In Germany, the drinking water limit for nitrate is set at 50 mg/l.
