Deionization is used to remove almost completely dissolved ions from water and is a central process for producing fully desalinated water (deionized water). ORBEN provides deionization solutions for industrial applications that require very low conductivity and defined water chemistry — for example in energy generation, surface treatment or in sensitive production processes.
Technically, deionization is based on the combination of strongly acidic cation and strongly alkaline anion exchangers. These are arranged in such a way that all cations and anions dissolved in water are completely removed. ORBEN uses high-quality resin materials with high exchange capacity and stable regeneration properties to ensure reproducible water qualities.
An essential feature of ORB deionization systems is their individual design. Depending on raw water quality, throughput and target conductivity, single-stage or multi-stage systems are designed. Mixed-bed systems or combinations of separate cation and anion exchangers are also possible to meet the highest purity requirements.
In addition to plant technology, ORBENS services also include the planning of efficient regeneration strategies. Acid and alkaline consumption is optimized to minimize operating costs and waste water volumes. At the same time, automated control and monitoring systems ensure safe, continuous operation.
Deionization by ORBEN is therefore a proven solution for applications that require consistently high quality demineralized water and meet the highest process safety requirements.
