Microfiltration

Microfiltration is a proven process for removing suspended matter, particles and microbiological contaminants from water. ORBEN uses microfiltration systems specifically as a precursor or stand-alone treatment unit to ensure stable and safe water quality for industrial processes.

ORBENS microfiltration solutions are based on mechanical separation processes with defined pore sizes, which are typically in the range of 0.1 to 10 microns. As a result, solids, rust particles, sediments or biological components can be reliably removed without changing the chemical composition of the water.

A central advantage of microfiltration at ORBEN is the flexible system design. Depending on throughput, raw water quality and space conditions, candle filters, bag filters or automatic backwash filters are used. These modular concepts allow optimal adaptation to a wide range of applications — from process water treatment to the protection of sensitive membrane or ion exchange systems.

ORBENS services include not only the selection of suitable filter media, but also the integration of intelligent monitoring and flushing functions. Differential pressure measurements and automatic cleaning cycles ensure constant operation and minimize manual intervention. At the same time, downtimes are extended and maintenance costs are reduced.

In the overall concept of water treatment, microfiltration often plays a protective role. It reduces the load on downstream treatment stages such as nanofiltration, reverse osmosis or EDI systems and thus contributes significantly to overall plant stability.

With its robust, low-maintenance and efficiently designed microfiltration solutions, ORBEN provides a reliable basis for clean and process-safe water — both as an individual component and as an integral part of complex treatment systems.
